Why are the pretty ones always insane?

Haven't been blogging for a while, too busy actually having experiences to document them. My friend Helen came down from Manchester for a week and we stayed late into the night getting high and having deep, meaningful discussions, mainly about ourselves and our friends, but occassionally about grander things.

Two links for you this morning. The first, PoetryWhore is one of those blogs that doesn't mention it is a blog, seems completely unaware that it is a blog, and is the better for it. There is a tendancy with Killer Apps to feel a certain amount of self-satisfaction about simply partaking, in no matter how rudimentary or piss-poor a form, in them. As if simply being aware of it is enough to secure your cool and cutting edge status. For example, look at the slew of vacuous and useless homepages that sprung up after the Internet and paticularly the World Wide Web we're "discovered" by the world en masse. Anyway, he's a self-proclaimed critic of poetry, suitably cynical and sardonic for the cause, and very amusing. The link is ruthlessly stolen from MattDalby Poetry.

Second on the agenda we have neuroticpoets.com which provides biogs of all of your favourite unhinged, manically depressed and generally insane poets and writers. Currently in progress we have Jim Morrison and up for your reading pleasure we have Byron, Shelley, Poe, Rossetti, Dickinson, Wilde, Thomas and Plath. I've always preferred insane poets to the sane ones, I guess I just feel more of a sense of a solidarity with them. This link is stolen straight from PoetryWhore.
