zap! pow! whoopah!

I have a big thing for underground comics. When I was a kid I could never get into the whole marvel/DC thing - men and women with latex and super powers seemed to bore me. The glimpses I got of underground american comics, on the other hand, intriged the fuck out of me. I ain't really a connoisseur though, I don't know much about them, but I do know some stuff. I know Ghost World was based on an underground comic, that The Simpsons is the manifestation of the maverick comic spirit on mainstream TV, and that all this week The Guardian are doing this big retrospective on Robert Crumb.
