Everytime I try to get out they pull me back in...

I'm taking the plunge. After months of moaning and bitching and excuses (see archive for further details) I've decided to do the unthinkable - I'm gonna set up a new blog on movable type.

This presents a series of 'interesting' problems. Firstly, Movable Type needs to be running on a web server running mySQL. It also requires PERL to be installed, cuz the movable type publishing platform is written in PERL, see?

This is a problem, firstly because I don't got no hosting at the moment. Okay, no problem, I can get hosting (when I've got some money). In the mean time I can just set up a HTTP server on my home box, set up my blog and then, when a get some hosting, FTP it over. Easy!

Ha.

Although I have a fairly good idea about alot of things to do with pooters and the internit I'm kinda lacking in specific knowledge, so I am faced with a long a bloody quest as I fight for my right to become a self-sufficiant blogger.

Of course, I could just locate a geek in uni and get him to help me out, but I wouldn't learn anything then would I?
