did ya know?

The term 'grunge' was coined by Mudhoney and the folks at SubPop. 'The grunge years' was the name of a subpop showcase compilation featuring bands from the label. It was only after trend hungry music journalists latched onto the sound that it became a catch-all name for that particular strain of post-punk.
